Mala Aravindan dies at 76

Ace comedian in Malayalam Film Industry Mala Aravindan is no more. He took his last breath at 6.30 AM on January 28, 2015. He was undergoing treatment at the Kovai Medical Center following a major heart attack on January 19. 

Mala Aravindan was once the most demanded comedy actor in Mollywood. He along with Kuthiravattom Pappu and Jagathy Sreekumar redefined the traditional concepts of comedy characterizations in Malayalam Cinema. At one point of time, a Malayalam Cinema without the presence of these actors were quite unimaginable. 

Mala Aravindan was born in 1941 as the son of Ayyappan and Ponnamma. His father was a Police Officer, while his mother was a teacher. Soon after passing the S S L C Examination, he entered the entertainment industry by working as a Tabalist for various drama troops. Soon, he shifted his concentration towards acting. 

He made his acting debut in films through 'Sindooram' directed by Aravindan. The movie had its theatrical release in 1968. Through his roles in movies like, 'Pattalam', 'Mullavalliyum Thenmavum', 'Meesamadhavan', 'Pattanapravesham', 'Thadavara' etc, he affirmed his position in the minds of Malayalee audience.
