Kavya Madhavan In Saloo George's Directorial Debut

Kavya Madhavan will essay the central role in the directorial debut of Saloo George, the popular cinematographer. The movie, which is said to be a women-centric medical thriller, will start rolling soon. As per the reports, Kavya Madhavan will be playing an extremely challenging role in the movie, which deals with a crime investigation. If the sources are to be true, it will be the strongest role in Kavya's career so far.

The movie will be shot at various locations of Kuttikkanam and Thekkady. The rest of the star cast, technical crew and the further details regarding the yet to be titled project will be revealed soon. Kavya Madhavan In Saloo George's Directorial Debut It is not a bright phase in Kavya's acting career. The actor, who took a small hiatus from the movies, made a comeback into the industry with the recently released Saji Surendran movie ‘She Taxi’. She played the role of a She Taxi driver in the movie, which has Anoop Menon in the lead role. Despite the huge expectations, the movie miserably failed at the box office and earned negative reviews from the critics. Kavya's next movie Aakashavani, in which she plays an ambitious media worker. The movie, which will have popular actor-producer Vijay Babu in the male lead, is expected to hit the theatres for Ramzan.

Asha Sarath To Be Kamal Hassan's Heroine

Asha Sarath will play one of the two female leads opposite Kamal Hassan in the upcoming movie Thoongavanam, directed by Rajesh M Selva. Reportedly, Asha plays Kamal Haasan's wife in the movie. Trisha Krishnan will essay another female lead in the movie. Initially, the makers were considering Bollywood actress Manisha Koirala to play Kamal's wife in the movie. But the crew later opted for Asha Sarath after watching her films.

The actress has already shared the screen with Kamal Hassan in the Tamil remake of Drishyam, which has been titled ‘ Papanasam’. She reprised her character IG Geetha Prabhakar Drishyam in the Tamil remake as well. Asha Sarath was also a part of the Kannada remake of Drishyam. She is one of the rare actresses who got the opportunity to play the same role in the three remake versions of the movie. The actress, who made her acting debut in the mini screen, is doubtlessly one of the finest talents of contemporary Malayalam Cinema. She has recently paired up with Mammootty in the blockbuster movie Varsham. Interestingly, Asha Sarath started her acting career in her late 30's, with the full support of her husband Sarath and daughters. Mollywood has started accepting married heroines; seems to be a positive sign!

Nayans To Star In Bangalore Days Remake

Nayantara, the star actress is reportedly playing a cameo role in the Tamil remake of the blockbuster roaring hit film, Bangalore Days which was directed by Anjali Menon.

Reportedly, She will be reprising the character played by Nithya Menon in the original. Manorama online reports that the Tamil remake of Bangalore Days has been titled as Arjun, Divya Matrum Karthik. The team is yet to confirm Nayatara's entry into the star cast officially. The movie is directed by Bommarillu fame Bhaskar. Rana Daggubati, Arya, Bobby Simha and Sri Divya will be playing the roles played by Fahadh Faasil, Dulquer Salmaan, Nivin Pauly and Nazriya Nazim in the original. Parvathy Menon will reprise her role RJ Sarah in the remake as well.

Earlier, it was reported that Nithya Menon will be reprising her role Natasha from the original in the Tamil remake. But according to the sources close to the actress, she was not approached for the role. Being one of the most sought after actress of South Indian Cinema, Nayantara already has a hand full of promising projects in her kitty. She last appeared in Malayalam, in the Siddique directed Bhaskar The Rascal. Reportedly, Nayantara will be reprising her role in the Tamil and Bollywood remakes of Bhaskar The Rascal. Superstar Rajinikanth or Ajith Kumar will be playing the title character Bhaskar in the remake.

MOHANLAL AGAIN TEAMS UP WITH B. UNNIKRISHNAN FOR ‘GRANDMASTER 2’

Mohanlal and B Unnikrishnan, the actor-director duo will soon team up for a new project, which will be the sequel of the blockbuster movie Grandmaster. Mohanlal will reprise his role IG Chandrasekhar in the sequel. The sequel, which has been titled as Grandmaster 2, will also have a popular young actor of M'town in a pivotal role. 

B Unnikrishnan himself announced the news in the recent interview given to a popular online media. If the reports are to be true, Priya Mani, who featured advocate Deepti, the female lead opposite Mohanlal in the original, will be reprising her role in the sequel as well. More details about the project will be revealed soon. 

Grandmaster, which revolved around a murder series and the police officer who investigates the crime, was a major hit of 2012. The movie was penned by director Unnikrishnan himself. Anoop Menon, Jagathy Sreekumar, Narain, Roma, Seetha, Fathima Babu Siddique, Devan etc appeared in the supporting roles in the movie, which was produced by the popular banner UTV Motion Pictures. B Unnikrishan-Mohanlal duo's last venture Mr Fraud was a box office disaster.If things fall in place, Grandmaster 2 will start rolling immediately after Mohanlal finishes the filming of his upcoming movies Kanal and Puli Murugan.

Unni Mukundan to team up with Govind Padmasoorya in Jose Thomas film.

Young actors and handsome hunks Unni Mukundan and Govind Padmasoorya are joining hands for a romantic comedy which will be directed by Jose Thomas. The film will be scripted by Sethu.The movie is a take on   friendship, and is expected to begin by next month.

The untitled movie celebrates will see Unni Mukundan play the lead role.  Govind Padmasoorya will feature in a decisive role. They will play childhood friends who stay together through thick and thin. But, then an unexpected turn of events shake their lives. The movie will be produced by Shashidharan Ullattil, who made the megahit 'Vellimoonga'. The makers are looking to rope in Vineeth Sreenivasan as well into the project . Rest of the cast is also under consideration.

The many takes on ‘ Oru vadakkan selfie’

Celebrated film ‘Oru vadakkan selfie’ is gearing up to remake in every major film industry in India. The film will soon have it’s versions in several languages like Tamil, Thelungu, Hindi, Marathi and Bengali.

Oru vadakkan selfie, featured Nivin Pauly in title role was directed by new comer G. P Prajith. The script was penned by Vineeth Sreenivasan and was produced by Vinod Shornur. Jomon T. John worked with the film as cinematographer.

The film will be the second one to be remade in many languages after Malayalam hit ‘ Drishyam’. The remakes of ’ Drishyam’ seem to be the most awaited family thriller in bollywood, Tollywood and Kollywood since the trailers of both ‘ Paapanasam,’and the Hindi version of the film have gone viral in social media platforms. Following the same way, this Selfie story is also expected to have favourable response from the fans.

AMMA GETS MAMMOOTTY AS NEW GENERAL SECRETARY

Mega star Mammootty has been chosen as the new General secretary of the association of Malayalam movie artists today. Innocent will continue as the President of AMMA and Idavela Babu will be there as secretary as well. Super star Mohanalal has been the General secretary of the association for almost 6 years as he elected as the General secretary in 2009. But this time he opts out from the position as he had many other commitments and after Mohanlal naturally Mammootty has been chosen as the General secretary. There will not be any competition to join the executive committee of AMMA which has around 350 members in it. The time to submit the nomination is over and this time there will not be any election as there is no competition as we said above.

AMMA is the first association of its kind in India and after the formation and working of this AMMA association other film industries in India also formed such associations and they all are working properly. Mohanlal, Madhu etc are the ones who really lead to the formation of this association. Innocent- Mohanlal- Idavela babu team was the best leaders AMMA ever have and they led the association with great developments and absolute sincerity.  Even though many crisis like Thilakan issue, Suresh Gopi issue and rifts with other associations came up after the formation of the association, this trio had done wonderfully well to hold it together and make it one of the best or The best in India.

They are doing many activities such as giving pension to age old members of the association titled as KAINEETTAM every month. They also does stage shoes for raising funds for actors who are suffering and also done many charity works using this funds as well. They have plans such as starting a new publication which will reach to everyone monthly and also planning to start a co-operative society based on Kochi.

Ganesh Kumar and Dileep are the Vice-Presidents of the association and Kunchacko Boban is the treasurer who also chosen in the 2009 election. AMMA’s general body is one which makes all decisions regarding its working and all other matters.

Dulquer Salmaan As Charlie

Dulquer Salmaan will essay the title character, Charlie, in the upcoming movie Charlie, directed by photographer turned filmmaker Martin Prakkat. The first look of Dulquer from the movie has been revealed. The movie will have Parvathy Menon in the female lead. Aparna Gopinath will appear in a key role. Parvathy is pairing up with Dulquer for the second time. The duo has earlier shared the screen in the blockbuster movie Bangalore Days.

Aparna Gopinath and Dulquer Salmaan have earlier shared screen in ABCD, which is also directed by Martin Prakkat. Charlie, which is said to be a romantic comedy is slated to release for Onam 2015. The getup of Dulquer Salmaan in the movie shows huge resemblance with the look of Nivin Pauly in the recently released flick Premam. Dulquer looks absolutely dashing in his new look with a thick beard and sunglass. Charlie will have an ensemble star cast, including Nedumudi Venu, Seetha, Kalpana, Joy Mathew, Renji Panicker, Tovino Thomas, Jacob Gregory, Chemban Vinod, Joju George, Soubin, RRameshPisharady, Sunil Sukhadha, Neeraj Madhav etc. The movie is penned by Unni R and Martin Prakkat. Jomon T John is the cinematographer. Gopi Sundar composes the music. Charlie is produced by Shebin Bakkar, Martin Prakkat and joju George, under the banner Finding Cinema.

Chief Wildlife Warden turns blind eye to Fahadh’s jumbo act

Actor Fahadh Faasil has gone scot-free after he was seen swinging on the tusks of a captive elephant in a 21-second video violating wildlife protection rules recently.

Though animal rights activists protested after the video appeared on social  networking sites, the Chief Wildlife Warden has  not taken any action against him so far.  

Deccan Chronicle had exposed the dangerous act in a report published on June 3 .Mr V.K. Venkitachalam, secretary, Heritage Animal Task Force, on Thursday  complained to the Animal Welfare Board of India about the CWW’s inaction.

It may be recalled that a person who posted a video on the Facebook showing him grabbing the leg of a jaguar inside the Hyderabad zoo was booked and put behind bars by the Hyderabad police and forest officials the other day.   He was charged under section 38 (j) of the Wildlife Protection Act which prohibits teasing of an animal.

“The actor committed  a similar offence warranting his arrest  under the provisions of section 38 to 40 of the Act of 1972,”  said Mr.Venkitachalam.   

Mr.G.Harikumar,CWW,  was not available for comments.  Mr.O.P. Kaler, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, told DC that the CWW had received the petition and that action would be taken after an inquiry into the incident.

Kamal Haasan to direct bollywood action- thriller

Actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan will be teaming up with Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan for Hindi action-thriller Amar Hai. The film will be helmed by Kamal himself and will touch upon modern day politics, finance and the underworld.

The film will be produced by Virendra K. Arora and Arjun N. Kapoor.

“Amar Hai is special to us in many ways. One, it is that iconic project which is sure to mark the much awaited Kamal Haasan working for Hindi cinema. Two, the film will see Kamal Haasan wearing multiple hats, that of an actor and a director on a story penned by him.

“And three, from the outset of scripting this film since the past six years, Kamal Haasan has had Saif Ali Khan in mind for the lead role and the actor has been clued in about his involvement on the mega project,” the makers said in a statement.

The story travels from Mumbai to North India and traverses some picturesque international cities as the plot progresses. The producers, along with the film’s mastermind Kamal, are exploring shooting locations in Mumbai, Delhi, London, Dubai, Jordan and parts of the US.

Talking about his role, Kamal said: “My character though not that of a conventional antagonist, would present a point of view that is far from ordinary.”

Kamal is currently shooting for Tamil thriller Thoongaavanam, while awaiting the release of another thriller Papanasam.

Amar Hai will be actor Kamal Haasan direct Hindi film in 18 years, after Chachi 420. Most of his popular tamil films, including Vishwaroopam was dubbed in Hindi.

Kochi to Witness South Asia’s largest Film Market in November

Kochi has been chosen to host the first ever All Lights India International Film Festival (ALIIFF) and Indywood Film Market ( IFM), South Asia’s biggest film market between 15th-21st November 2015 organized by All Lights Film Services, India’s leading film services Organisation .

ALIIFF aims at providing a unique platform for global film Industry to portray excellence in film making, aids to inspire, nurture and integrate the Indian Cinema industry thereby facilitating congregation of people and nations. ALIIFF stands for ‘Cinema for Knowledge’.  It is also committed to showcasing the best and most innovative new films for the audience. DAM999 WINS THE BEST SCREENPLAY AND SPECIAL JURY AWARD AT 8TH KOSOVO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL

Anusree Turns to be a Nurse in 'Maheshinte Prathikaram'

Anusree is one of the blessed actresses of the Malayalam movie industry. Her performance as 'Kalamandalam Rajashree' in her debut movie 'Diamond Necklace', itself proves her talent. She paired with Fahadh Faasil in 'Diamond Necklace' directed by Lal Jose. Now they both are joining hands in yet another movie 'Maheshinte Prathikaram', in which she will be seen as a nurse. 

'Maheshinte Prathikaram' is the debut movie of Dilesh Pothan. The movie portrays a village in Idukki district. Fahadh will be seen as a photographer in this movie, specialised in wedding photography. As per reports Shyam Pushkaran will be writing the script and Shyju Khalid will be handling the camera. Details about other cast and crew are not revealed. 

Anusree, who is from a reality show, impressed the audience from the very first movie itself. Her roles in Angry Babies in Love, Ithihasa etc were well acclaimed. Her last release was 'Chandrettan Evideya', which is doing well in theatres. She paired with Dileep in 'Chandrettan Evideya', which is directed by Maheshinte Prathikaram

Nivin to Lead in 'Amar Chitra Gadha'

The upcoming movie of Vinay Govind 'Amar Chitra Gadha' will seeNivin Pauly on lead. This has been officially announced by the director himself on his official facebook page. This is the second movie of Vinay, who have earlier directed the movie 'Kili Poyi'. 'Kili Poyi' released in 2013 saw Asif Ali and Aju Varghese on lead.

'Amar Chithra Gadha' tells the story of three characters Amar, Chitra and Gadha. Nivin will be portraying the role of Amar. The movie team is now in search of Chitra and Gadha. Said to be an entertainer, the script of the movie will be handled by Vivek Ranjith. Apart from Nivin, Aju Vargheseand Saiju Kurup will be having pivotal roles in this movie.
